The counseling office is comprised of two counselors, Mr. Grant and Ms. Young, and counseling secretary, Mrs. Tong. Mr. Grant and Ms. Young counsel students individually and in group settings to help them make good decisions about their conduct, class selections, and future careers. Eighth grade students are specifically given counseling regarding course selections for high school and their career and college plans. Both counselors carefully track all students' grades throughout the year to ensure the students are meeting the District's middle school promotion policy.
Mr. Grant also runs on-site counseling groups for selected students that should help students with problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision making. Students must have parent permission to participate in his counseling groups or in the counseling services provided by two outside agencies, North Peninsula Family Alternatives and Pyramid. Westborough Middle School offers academic help for students who need assistance. Most Westborough teachers are available to meet with students, by request, after school or at lunch.
