Grade Monitoring

Westborough provides multiple ways to monitor your child's academic progress.  It is incredibly important to monitor your child's grade from the very start of the year and never stop following through.

  • Progress reports are issued at the middle of each quarter, either four or five weeks into the quarter.
  • Report cards are issued quarterly, with each quarter lasting nine or ten weeks.
  • Your child's semester grade determines whether he/she passes a course.  Semester grades are an average of two quarter grades.

Many teachers post their grades online on School Loop.  You must be registered to view your child's grades online or via email.

Westborough also offers a weekly report for students who need more regular monitoring of grades.

  • Students simply sign-in and pick-up a weekly report from the main office counter each Friday morning.
  • They then bring the weekly report to their teachers, who will fill out grades and comments for the week.
  • Students then get the weekly reports home, show their parents (who sign off), and then return it to the counseling office by the following Tuesday morning.

Please note that student grades do fluctuate at any given time, and a one-letter grade range is normal.  If your child should drop more than one letter grade, speak to your child to see what may have caused the drop before contacting your child's teacher.
