Student Clubs

2018 - 19 WMS Clubs

Many clubs and activities are offered at Westborough.  Students are encouraged to get involved and take advantage of the variety of opportunities offered to enhance the middle school experience.  The clubs and activities offered vary each year according to student interest and staffing.


Art Club

In Art Club, we will meet weekly to talk about art and work on creative art projects together. We will meet Tuesdays at Lunch in room 54, Ms. J's Room. Come to our first meeting on 9/11/2018.


Basketball Club

The Basketball club is aimed at students interested in playing basketball, but not wanting to join the Park and Rec basketball team.  There will be organized matches and periodic pick-up games. See Mr. Rosenthal for more info.


Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is a service organization at Westborough dedicated to campus beautification efforts, but not limited to, litter control and prevention.  The club generally meets in the mornings during breakfast from 8:00-8:15, and at lunchtime daily, to pick up school litter from the campus.  Members are responsible for lunch duty once a week, helping keep the patio, blacktop, and MUR clean. To celebrate our hard work, we will go on a field trip to Great America in the Spring. Contact Ms. Ison or Mrs. Saelaw for more info.


BTS Club

A place for students of different grade levels to bond over their favorite band - BTS! We will also be working on a performance for the talent show. We will meet Tuesdays at lunch in Ms. A Wong's classroom, room 24.


Calligraphy Club

In Calligraphy Club, we seek to practice the art of calligraphy together with people who <3 calligraphy. No experience? No problem! our club is open to anyone who wants to participate in and learn this art. We will meet Thursdays at lunch in Ms. Duncan's room, 72.


Chess Club

Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch, students are welcome to come and play one of the world's oldest and most complex games, chess  If you are already a chess player or would like to become one, then the Chess Club is for you.  See Mr. Yanow in Room 76.



We each read a novel a month and have discussions and/or do an art piece to show our understanding of the novel. Books will be provided by Orange Library. We will meet Mondays at lunch in Mrs. Narvarte's classroom, room 14. Our first meeting is Monday 9/10/18.


Debate Club

Do you enjoy debating? Do you love defending your opinions with logic and facts? Well, join us in Debate Club! In this club, Wildcats will learn public speaking, research, and argument skills. We will study both sides of an issue, so that we can be prepared to argue for either side. Then, we will conduct debates and see who defends their side more effectively! We will meet Fridays at lunch in Ms. Duncan's classroom, room 72.


Dr. Who Club

This is for all the "Whovians" out there. We will watch episodes from Dr. Who, do fun activites like have a White Elephant Gift Exchange, explore parodies, play games and have a great time at lunch. We meet Fridays at lunch in Ms. Wong's classroom, room 62. Sign up outside Ms. N. Wong's room.


Gardening Club

Come to the Yurt after school when announced, work in the garden and feast on snacks. We meet on Fridays, as announced (not every Friday). All are welcomed!


Hamilton Club

We will listen to and obsess over the musical "Hamilton". We will meet during lunch on Thursdays in Ms. Martin's room.


Harry Potter Club

Come hang out with fellow Harry Potter fans in Ms. Low's room (61) Fridays, before school at 8am. See Ms. Low for more info.


Music Department Club

This is for students in band or choir to come up with new ideas to better improve the program! We will help build a lasting legacy for current and future members. We will meet Tuesdays at lunch in the band room with Ms. Martin. If interested, see Ms. Martin by 9/11.


Planeteers Club

Help us keep the school clean and save the environment as we implement terracycling. This group has pioneered an extensive recycling, re-purposing, and composting initiative to help reduce the amount of waste generated on campus. We meet Tuesdays at Lunch in Ms. Low's room 61.


Recycling Club

Westborough We-Cyclers handle the recycling throughout the school.  One group collects and puts out for pick up the large recycling bins located throughout the campus on a bi-weekly basis.  The bottles and cans recycling is also done every other week by students who gather, separate, and crush the cans and plastic bottles for recycling.  See Mr. Yanow in Room 76 for more information.



SAGA is a safe place for queer, questioning and allied students to discuss queer issues and be themselves. We meet Thursdays at lunch in rm 24, Ms. A. Wong's classroom.

Mondays at lunch in Ms. Low's room 61.


Stock Market Club

The Stock Market Club is open to all students interested in the financial marketplace.  The club competes every semester in the California Stock  Market Competition and the National CNBC Competition.  They have won the competition twenty times in the past. See Mr. Patane in Room 12 for more information.


WBDC (Westborough Dance Crew)

We come up with a song and dance routine to perform at Westborough's Annual Talent Show in the Spring. Practice is every Thursday during lunch. If interested, come to the first meeting on Thursday, 9/13/18 in Mrs. Narvarte's, room 14.


Westborough Middle School Wrestling Club

Students will improve their flexibility and strength while learning the basics of collegiate style wrestling. We will meet after school Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:30pm - 5pm. Meet in L-17 (Portable on Black top). If interested, attend meeting with Mr. Aquino in room 53 during lunchtime on 9/12/18 or 9/13/18.


Yoga Club

We meet weekly to practice yoga and mindfulness. No experience necessary, although you do need to have a parent/guardian signed consent form before joining us! We meet Mondays after school from 3:10 - 4:00pm. Wear comfortable clothing and meet Ms. Phelps and Ms. Richards outside L-17 (portable on the blacktop). Sign up sheet and Consent forms are available in the office from Ms. Fernando. In the Spring, we will go on a field trip to attend a yoga class at a yoga studio in San Francisco.
